If you or a family member have foot/leg pain when walking and or standing, are suffering from a disease process which can affect your feet; or have noticed that your shoes wear out in an abnormal pattern, you may want to get an assessment so we can help you deal with your discomfort. For a more detailed list of indicators that you might need orthotics, check out our Symptoms page.
As a member of the Pedorthic Association of Canada, we are one of the few medical professionals educated in the design, fit, manufacture and modification of footwear and foot orthoses (orthotics) and are regularly called upon to fill prescriptions from your doctor and make recommendations for treatment.
Every case requires special attention. Variables may include bone deformities, joint stiffness, instep height, amputations and ulcerations. We also assess biomechanical anomalies such as hyperpronation or over supination, in-toeing or out-toeing and leg length differences. To find out more about what we do, visit our Orthotics Process page.
A custom-made orthotic may also be required to deal with specific biomechanical (movement) problems, pressure distribution, or impact forces. We are qualified to assess and treat these and many other conditions of the foot and lower leg. In many cases, internal or external modifications to footwear may be indicated to assist in the treatment of these sources of pain and can come in the form of sole lifts, rocker soles, and changes to a shoe's profile. To find out how we can help you specifically, contact us or visit our Custom Orthotics and Shoes page.
We are trained in the assessment, design, manufacture, fit and modification of orthotics and footwear for the purposes of alleviating painful or debilitating conditions and providing assistance for abnormalities or limited actions of the lower limb.
